Grove 42 is an innovative non-alcoholic distilled spirit from Seedlip. Flavoured with citrus and spice, the bitter orange and lemongrass notes in the spirit are echoed nicely by the sweet carrot cordial. The idea behind this recipe is that it’s a great way to use carrot peel and avoid food waste. You can make it with peel, whole carrots, or a mixture.
Makes: enough syrup for 12 drinks
Time: 35 minutes, plus cooling time
Ingredients
Carrot cordial
- 130 grams (4.5 oz) carrot or carrot peel, or a mixture
- 260 grams (9.2 oz) sugar
- 260 grams (9.2 oz) water
Grove 42 cocktail
- 50 ml (2 oz) Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit
- 20 ml (3/4 oz) Carrot cordial
- soda water, to top
- sage leaf, to garnish
Method
Carrot cordial
1. Place ingredients in mixing bowl. Cook 30 min/Varoma/speed 1. Strain into a jug or jar and allow to cool. Store in refrigerator.
Grove 42 cocktail
2. Place ice in a tumbler and top with Grove, cordial and soda. Garnish with a sage leaf.
Variations
- You can make this with gin instead of the Grove 42.
