A mood, not just a menu
I’m one of those people who goes to bed thinking about breakfast – I don’t know if there’s a name for this particular affliction? Brunchatarian, maybe… Anyway, I think Brunch is a great meal to share with friends. No-one expects a banquet so it’s easy to impress. Plus, Bacon and Cinnamon Scrolls… need I say more?
Brunch tunes
I’ve been having a lot of fun with the music playlist for Brunch. There are some explicitly morning tunes (Good Day Sunshine, Breakfast in America), various upbeat, sweet or just lovely tunes both newish and oldish. As with all the playlists, I’ll keep adding and adjusting… but I reckon that Mexican Institute of Sound track is a keeper!
Styling tips
Just keep it fresh and clean and low-key. I’d be thinking about optimistic colours, maybe some flowers or bright napkins, but nothing too flash or fancy. If there’s the chance to be outside, take it!
Recipe highlights
I just flicked through this chapter to choose my favourite dishes and – guess what? – it’s impossible! I love the healthy vim-and-vigour dishes (Kale Smoothie, Carrot Porridge) and I’m a total sucker for the eat-now-nap-later Bacon and Cinnamon Scrolls and Tiraccino. Then there’s the Bloody Maria, which is almost a meal in itself. All I can suggest is: dive in!
